Influenza Program

Day 1

  • Skilled nurses will get with your office to schedule same day visit for the patient.
  • Our team approach to care. If not already done, our nurses will obtain orders to collect a specimen for the Rapid Influenza Diagnostic Test.

Day 2 – 2 weeks: Skilled Care

  • Upon you ordering medications, our nurses will ensure that the patient begins the medication regime as soon as possible by facilitating the patient obtaining the medication from the pharmacy, assisting your office in obtaining IV fluids, if needed, through an infusion supplier, and initiating education and administration when medications are in the home.
  • Nurses will provide frequent visits to closely monitor the patient’s condition, coordinate medications, and educate on flue management to prevent complications.
  • Home health aides will visit the patient as needed to assist with performing ADLs (bathing, toileting, cleaning, vital sign monitoring).
  • Physical therapy will be provided for short duration, if needed, to assess and instruct on energy conservation, fall prevention, and establish a home exercise program.
