Old Country Ginger Snaps

1 ½ cups dark molasses

2 tsp. baking soda

1 cup brown sugar

2 tsp. ginger

2/3 cup cold water

1 tsp. allspice

1/3 cup margarine

1 tsp. cinnamon

6 cups flour

1 tsp. cloves

1 tsp. salt

Mix together molasses, brown sugar, water and margarine. Mix in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. Roll out and cut with cookie cutter, or roll into balls and press flat with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Yields approximately 3 dozen cookies.
