In the summer of 1992, Dr. Neal and Mary Ann Naranjo started A Pineywoods Home Health Care, Inc, with a desire to provide quality home care to the citizens of East Texas and to provide a positive, family environment for their employees. As a 6th generation East Texan, Dr. Neal Naranjo and his wife, Mary Ann Naranjo, are also committed to giving back to the Pineywoods community that they love.
Over the past 20 years, this vision has grown beyond the Naranjo’s wildest dreams. From one company with a handful of employees in 1992, to over 1,000 employees working for 3 companies in 51 counties today, the A Pineywoods family of companies and team of employees take pride in providing quality care to East Texans.
Dr. Neal Naranjo is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. In 1979, Dr. Naranjo earned his Ph.D. in Neuropsychology from the University of Southern California. After graduation, Dr. Naranjo completed a post-doctorial fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Having worked in numerous hospitals and teaching at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Naranjo returned to East Texas with his wife, Mary Ann Naranjo.
Mary Ann Naranjo has a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern California. She received a Certificate in Accounting with highest honors from Bentley College in Watham Mass. In 1984 she completed the requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant in Texas. Prior to coming to East Texas, she worked as a staff accountant at Harvard Medical School.
Kerri Griffin has been a nurse for the past 28 years, beginning as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1989 and earning her Associate Degree of Nursing (RN) in 1992. Kerri joined the A Pineywoods team in 1995 and has served in a management capacity for 18 years. For the past five years, she has served as the Eastern Region Supervisory RN for the Company. In July of 2013, Kerri was promoted to Administrator of the Home Health division. Kerri shares the passion to provide quality home care to our elderly population. Born in Shelby County, Kerri is a lifelong Center, Texas resident. She and her husband Ray have three beautiful daughters.

Lareina Nichols has been a registered nurse for seven years. Lareina came to A Pineywoods Home Health Care, Inc in 2008, serving as a Supervisory RN
Northern Region for the past year. In her spare time she is a Kids Works
mentor for elementary age boys. Lareina is married to Trenton Nichols and
they are proud parents to 4 boys and 1 girl.
Educated in the Netherlands, Jan Viet graduated with a Bachelor in Science in Physical Therapy in 1986. He was recruited in 1987 by Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport as an acute care staff therapist. He continued his hospital work for several facilities in both Louisiana and Texas, to come to Lufkin’s Memorial Medical Center of East Texas in 1991. Jan started Regional Physical Therapy Center and in 1999 took on the administrative responsibilities for Dr. J. Wagnon’s Texas Specialist Center. In 2003 he opened Masters Physical Therapy, which merged in 2004 with Woodland Heights Medical Center. In 2006 Mr. Viet was recruited by A Pineywoods Home Health Care, Inc to direct their Allied Health Department. On a personal note, Jan recently qualified to run the Boston Marathon in April, 2010. He and his wife B.J. live in Lufkin, Texas and have four children.
Tandy Hicks was one of the first administrative employees recruited by the Naranjos when they started A Pineywoods Home Health Care, Inc.. By 1993, the Company had grown enough to need more help and Tandy was hired to help Mary Ann Naranjo. Tandy has worked for A Pineywoods in some capacity for the past 16 years and was promoted to Alternate Administrator of A Pineywoods Home Services, Inc. in 2004. Today she manages a Company that employs over 700 providers, nurses and administrative staff and serves approximately 900 clients. Tandy lives in Lufkin, Texas and is the proud mother of 2 grown sons and 2 grandchildren.
